How to eliminate the sprouting Siberian elm trees after they were cut

In August 2017, Michael along with a few other volunteers returned to continue to clean up the Santa Fe River of Siberian Elm sprouts and Russian Olive. The last-year cut Siberian elm trees have been sprouting vigorously for a year because they were not treated at the time they were cut. To clean this up, Michael and other volunteers were using an ax to chop off the barks and sprouts. In 2016 we had removed around 100 Siberian Elm Trees from the River bank on both sides between Delgado st. and the footbridge beyond the Compound Restaurant.
